A Movie's a Movie, No Matter How Bad

Being a father of two wee ones under five, I read a lot of Seuss. Which I love!

So seeing his wonderful books turned into awful move after awful movie... GRR!!

The Onion explains my anger perfectly in this recent post. Here's a sample:

Hellboy 2 Trailer

OK, I'm no follower of the Hellboy comic, and the first movie was disappointing to say the least, but I loved, loved, LOVED Pan's Labyrinth, so please let Hellboy 2 be good.

Hulu X2 (Woo-Hoo!)

I've been impressed with Hulu thus far, and now that's it's out of beta I'm even more impressed.

Lots of content, fairly reasonable ad requirements, beautiful presentation... If I didn't know better I'd say Apple had its hand in it.

Go Speed Lego!

Ran across this over at Superhero Hype:

LEGO Group today announced an agreement with Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP) to secure construction toy rights for the upcoming Speed Racer, the live action feature film adaptation of the classic TV series created by anime pioneer Tatsuo Yoshida.

Under the agreement, LEGO Group will produce four constructible racing playsets under its LEGO Racers brand, scheduled to race onto store shelves in April 2008, and ranging in price from $19.99 to $59.99 USD. Builders and collectors alike will appreciate the inclusion of multiple authentic racers in each set for head-to-head racing and building fun. Many of the Speed Racer characters also will come to life in LEGO minifigure form, including Speed, Racer X, Trixie, Spritle, Chim-Chim, Mom and Pops Racer, Taejo Togokhan, Snake Oiler, Gray Ghost and Cruncher Block.

Never watched Speed Racer growing up, but it's cartoons and Legos, so I'm kinda obligated to blog about it.

Until I read your slam I had no idea Tiny Tim was Gerald McBoing-Boing. I was far too young for Gerald. If ever I noticed a resemblance in later years I just figured it was UPA stylization.

OK, not so hateful. In fact, kinda bland. But still, people are looking for this damn movie already?! AAAUUUGGGHHH!!!
